Is it possible to know for certain that you are going to heaven? According to the Bible, the answer is yes. You can be certain of your salvation. Here is God’s plan for your salvation:

You may be familiar with the well-known verse, John 3:16. It states, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” So what does this mean for us?

God loves all of mankind. His love is offered as a free gift. We can do nothing to earn it. However, God does hate sin and He will allow nothing evil to enter into Heaven (Revelation 21:27; Psalm 5:4). Therefore, man must be perfect to enter Heaven. Herein lies our problem. No one can honestly say that they are perfect. Although you may feel that you are better than your coworker, you have to admit that you have fallen short of the mark of perfection. Everyone has sinned (Romans, 3:10, 3:23; Isaiah 53:6; Ecclesiastes 7:20). You can not be “good enough” to enter Heaven. So what must we do and how can we enter Heaven if we must be perfect? The only thing that we can do is to receive Christ’s perfection as a free gift (Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5; Romans 6:23; John 10:28). There is only one condition for receiving eternal life. You must believe in Jesus Christ as your personal Savior. You must believe that when He died on the cross, He completely paid for all of your sins (John 3:18, 5:24, 6:47, 20:31; 2 Corinthians 5:21; 1 Peter 3:18; Acts 16:31; 1 Corinthians 15:1-4). Furthermore, there is no “Plan B” or any other additional plans. Eternal Salvation is based only in belief in Christ (John 14:6; Acts 4:10-12).

God wants you to have eternal life with Him. His desire is that everyone be saved (1 Timothy 2:3-4). However, you must believe in God’s plan of salvation to receive eternal life with Him. If you do believe in Christ, according to the Bible you will be given eternal life with God and become a part of God’s family (John 1:12). This is our hope for you.
